black bird

Blackbird recorded songs from as early as 1984 about the social woes of Hong Kong: the uneven distribution of wealth, the monster that is capitalism, and the threat imposed on the community by rapid development, problems that we still have to deal with today. I was listening to their CD compilation while filtering the papers on my desk, jotting down the titles of the films I want to get my hands on from the Social Movement Film Festival 2011, brewing a social activist vibe in my home-studio.
